Treatment Methods

My treatment methods are gentle and aim to restore balance and mobility to injured and overloaded joints and soft tissues.

I first address painful areas, whether the result of trauma or chronic overuse, with techniques to eliminate the pain. These methods include gentle joint mobilization and myofascial release techniques.

Treatment does not stop with attention to the painful areas. In the treatment process, I pay attention to how you move and hold yourself in addition to where you hurt. Addressing the faulty movement patterns is the key to lasting pain relief.

Often the treatment will include specific instructions to help re-pattern your movements. Many musculoskeletal problems can be remedied with a few simple movements that emphasize mobility, flexibility, and strength.

For your convenience, I will email you pictures and/or video instructions of the movement patterns I teach you in my office.

I schedule your office visits to provide enough time for both hands-on therapy, as well as therapeutic exercise and movement re-education.

Here are some of the techniques we use:

  • McKenzie Method
  • Fascial Manipulation
  • Core Stability Training
  • Posture Training
  • McGill Big 3
  • Selective Functional Movement Assessment
  • Active Isolated Stretching
  • Graston Technique, tool assisted soft tissue release
  • Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization
  • Breathing Instruction
